Keeping you safe on the water.

Spending time on the water is part of the Australian way of life. If you need help, Marine Rescue NSW is ready to respond.

When things don’t go according to plan, we’re ready to help. But our work begins even earlier, supporting our boating community and encouraging smart, safe habits on the water.

We’re with you on the water.

Our 45 units have the New South Wales coastline, the Alpine Lakes, Murray River and Lord Howe Island covered.

They’re equipped with a world class fleet and embedded in their local community. Backed by state of the art technology and training, our volunteers’ capabilities make Marine Rescue NSW an industry leader in the southern hemisphere.

Passionate. Professional. Local.

We have more than 3,000 volunteers on our team. They’re trusted members of their local community and they’re ready to give back.

With rigorous training and unmatched knowledge of their local waters, they bring their professional passion every day to ensure boaters come home safely to their families.

Our history is entwined with yours.

Volunteers have been serving the NSW boating community since 1937, with three marine rescue services uniting in 2009.

Their decades of skill and experience are the foundation of today’s organisation, helping our team of dedicated volunteers, the Board of Directors and staff to build an internationally-recognised service to save lives on the water.
