This is a reminder of just some of the wide range of important information and support services available should you feel you need help during the ongoing pandemic.

  • This key Federal Government website is regularly updated to give you the latest COVID-19 news, updates and advice from government agencies across Australia: https://www.australia.gov.au/

The Federal Government’s Head to Health page provides detailed health and information resources relating to the pandemic.

  • The NSW Government Health NSW website provides details and advice for community and businesses, including information about COVID-19 symptoms, testing and social distancing.
  • For members who are Centrelink clients or trying to connect with this agency for the first time due to the economic or social effects of the coronavirus, click here for information and services.
  • Critical Incident Support Services (CISS) This interagency service provided by the NSW Rural Fire Service is available to all MRNSW personnel who may be experiencing a traumatic or stressful reaction. Contact the CISS team 24 hours a day on 1800 049 933. All information is treated confidentially. This service is for MRNSW members only and please do not distribute this 1800 number externally or publicly.
  • Counselling, mental health and disaster welfare services are also available across NSW. The following are free services available 24 hours a day, seven days a week:
  • Mental Health Line – 1800 011 511
  • Lifeline – 13 11 14 – Lifeline also has some handy information regarding looking after yourself during the pandemic
  • MensLine Australia – 1300 789 978
  • Suicide Call Back Service – 1300 659 467
  • Kids Helpline – 1800 55 1800. Kids Helpline has terrific information for children
  • Headspace – 1800 650 890
  • Beyond Blue – 1300 22 4636. Beyond Blue also has some handy information regarding looking after yourself during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • If you are experiencing difficulties with a need to self-isolate or work from home, the ABC has provided some advice and resources.
  • Many social media platforms have provided important information to people affected in real time – so do connect if that is possible and appropriate for you.
