Following updated health advice from NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian about the current Sydney cases of COVID-19 and the growing risk to the community, added restrictions have now been introduced for Greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains, Wollongong and Shellharbour and all parts of NSW.
As of 6pm today – 26 June, 2021 – masks are now compulsory in all indoor non-residential settings, including workplaces, and at organised outdoor events right across NSW.
Face masks are now mandatory to help assist to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our communities and help keep NSW functioning as normally as possible to support businesses and maintain economic activity.
What does this mean for me if I’m a Marine Rescue member on duty?
Now that mask wearing has been extended to workplaces, Marine Rescue members are to wear masks while on duty. This includes while on board our rescue vessels and in our unit premises.
MRNSW holds suitable supplies of masks in Stores for all unit members, if required.
How do I obtain a face mask from Marine Rescue?
Units have been supplied with face masks for issue to members. Additional supplies can be ordered by Unit Commanders / ROMs through MR Stores using the MR 798 order form. Units will not be charged for the cost of face masks.
Stay COVID Safe – even when wearing a mask you should also continue to follow physical distancing guidelines and practice good hygiene. Should you fell unwell or experience any symptoms, please do not hesitate to get tested and follow all relevant advice from NSW Health.
