Here are a few tips for a great New Year’s Eve on our waterways, and one that does not start the new year with you being rescued by our volunteers!
o Be patient launching and retrieving your vessel. Boat ramps tomorrow tonight will be packed with long queues. Allow plenty of time. Be courteous.
o Carry plenty of water, sunscreen and snacks.
o Log On with Marine Rescue on the updated Marine Rescue NSW app or on your marine radio VHF Channel 16.
o Carry plenty of fuel for the journey and some in reserve.
o If running portable coolers, music or other electrical devices watch out you don’t flatten your battery.
o Ensure that you are carrying all of the necessary safety gear such as V-sheet, first aid kit, flares, lifejackets, marine radio, and EPIRB.
o Obey the boating rules and especially exclusion areas for New Year’s Eve fireworks in your area.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
