Dispose of your expired flares

DO YOU HAVE EXPIRED FLARES?

Flares signal that you are in trouble and provide an exact location for searching aircraft or vessels.

Over the next few weeks expired flares are being collected in many areas across the state by Roads and Maritime for safe disposal.

Most flares have a use-by date of three years and they must be replaced before the expiry date.

It is an offence to set off flares except in an emergency so they must be disposed of safely.

The expired flares collection program provides the boating community with an opportunity to safely dispose of their out of date flares.

Follow this link for the next collection day in your area.
