Community Memorial Service

Marine Rescue Ballina, with the support of Ballina RSL, will host a Community Memorial Service to recognise the sacrifice, commitment and service of the unit’s volunteers and local first responders following the tragic events of 4 May.

The memorial will provide an opportunity for the Ballina community to come together, reflect, support one another and continue the healing process after an incident that profoundly affected volunteers, families, emergency services personnel and the wider community.

The memorial will be held at the RSL Memorial Park on Sunday 5 July, commencing at 11am. 

Members of the community are encouraged to attend the public Memorial Service to come together and support one another.

A ticket or registration is not required to attend, and the event will be live streamed on this webpage.

Will the Community Memorial Service proceed rain or shine?
 
As the memorial is taking place outdoors, it may be cancelled if a severe weather warning is issued. Please check this webpage for the latest information and guidance.
 
Is the Community Memorial Service seated?
Seating will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Please arrive early if you wish to secure a seat. 
Once seating allocation is exhausted, members of the public will be able to view the service from the surrounding grass areas.
 
Can anyone attend the Community Memorial Service and is there a dress code?
The memorial is open to all members of the public to attend. No ticket or registration is required.
The suggested dress code is smart casual.
