Angry seas at Cape Solander at the entrance to Botany Bay this morning as a low tracks south along the NSW coast.

Widespread rain is expected to continue to fall, with strong winds and large waves set to develop this afternoon and tonight.

Hazardous Surf Warning for NSW on Monday, July 27 and Tuesday, July 28:

Surf and swell conditions are expected to be hazardous for coastal activities such as rock fishing, boating, and swimming in the following areas: the Hunter, Sydney, Illawarra, Batemans and Eden coasts.

Wind Warnings for Monday, July 27:

Storm Force Wind Warning for the Batemans Coast.

Gale Warning for Sydney Closed Waters and the Hunter, Sydney, Illawarra and Eden coasts.
