The opportunity

We're recruiting for a new Fleet Manager. We're looking for someone with the unique skill set to lead and manage the fleet of Marine Rescue Vessels, vehicles and supporting equipment that underpin the emergency service capability of MRNSW and its 44 accredited rescue units. Reporting to the Deputy Commissioner, the Fleet Manager will be responsible for scoping, contracting and managing all new rescue vessel builds and existing vessel refurbishments, working closely with our units, regulators, boat builders and equipment suppliers. Effective information management and adherence to legislation, regulation and policy requirements (national and state) related to vessels, vehicles and other key assets will be a key part of the role.

If you’re passionate about emergency services and the maritime environment and want to lead rescue vessel R&D and develop new systems and processes, then this opportunity will allow you to shine.

A strong project management background and ability to plan and engage with third party suppliers to deliver maintenance and overhauls within budget will ensure our fleet is fit for purpose and delivering to the organisations mission. Any maritime experience and commercial marine qualifications are highly desirable.
