Rescue volunteers are again in the top three most trusted professions in Australia.
The results of the 2013 Australian Readers Digest Most Trusted Professions poll were released today, indicating that it’s the people who protect, care and give who have earned the nation’s trust.
With firefighters and paramedics sharing equal top placing, rescue volunteers came in at number three – the same position as in 2012 - in the survey of 1200 Australians asked to rank 50 professions.

News & Media
Soundings is the quarterly magazine of Marine Rescue NSW, which is recognised as a powerful advocate for safe, enjoyable and responsible boating.
Soundings takes this message to the boating community. The magazine is delivered direct to all Marine Rescue NSW members and an influential VIP list of government, marine and community opinion leaders and also distributed through a network of boating goods suppliers, marinas and yacht clubs.
We are always keen for stories about the great work of Marine Rescue NSW members and to assist the boating community. If you're a member and want to tell us about your unit's new vessel, rescues and assists, fundraising and community support activities, education and general news, get in touch. If you're a boatie and our members have helped you when you ran into trouble on the water, please let us know.
We would love your photos, too but would ask that these are hi-res print quality in .jpg format and that you give us the names of anyone included.
You can reach us on firstname.lastname@example.org or ask for Kate Woods or Ken McManus at Headquarters on 8071 4848.
Soundings delivers a valuable market for marine products, equipment and services, with an audience of boating safety authorities and boat owners, ensuring your message reaches the right audience: the boaties who need to know about your products and services. As an advertiser in Soundings, you also will be actively supporting this vital emergency service and its hardworking volunteer members.
