Marine Rescue Iluka Yamba will have you all at sea with its major fundraiser for 2012. The prize in this year’s raffle is a P&O Cruise to Vanuatu Noumea for 11 nights for four people! The raffle will be drawn on Easter Saturday and tickets are $2 each or three for $5. Look out for volunteers at Lismore Centro from February 13 to 18, Yamba Coles from February 20 to 25 and Grafton Shopping World from March 5 to 10.
Make sure you meet the Marine Rescue NSW volunteers at the popular Rosehill Trailer Boat Show on March 17 and 18.The event will showcase some of the best that recreational trailer boating has to offer. More than 40 exhibitors will pack the grounds to give you more choice and more information on all the gear you need for your trailer boat. As well as new and second-hand trailer boats, you’ll also find kayaks, fishing accessories, chandlery accessories and more. The Marine Rescue NSW stand will be right near the entry so drop in on your way into the show for boating safety advice and information from our friendly volunteers and support our fundraising efforts to purchase lifesaving automatic defibrillators for our fleet. The event, organised by the Boating Industry Association, is at Rosehill Gardens Racecourse, James Ruse Drive, Rosehill. Opening hours at 9am to 5pm and entry and parking are free!
Spend a night with Normie Rowe and Marine Rescue Crowdy Harrington on April 28. The star of the 60s, famous for hits including Que Sera Sera and Shakin’ All Over, will appear at the Wingham District Memorial Services Club, 28 Bent Street, Wingham. Support bands take to the stage at 5pm and Normie at 6pm. Tickets for this major fundraising evening are $33 (or $35 at the door), which includes a light supper and door prizes. The annual Mullum to Bruns Paddle will be held on Sunday, May 27. The event includes a 10km paddle challenge, 10km stand up paddle challenge, 10km fun paddle and a series of short board challenges for kids. The popular fundraising event is organised by Marine Rescue Brunswick, the Brunswick Surf Club and Brunswick Visitors Centre.
