  • Overturned boat rescue mission

TWO men were plucked from the sea earlier today after the boat they were on overturned.

The pair who were believed to be fishing in the 5.6 metre aluminium runabout struck trouble as they tried to re enter the Hastings River by crossing the bar.

Both were picked up by ambulance at the Port Macquarie Wharf and taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital.

At least one of the men suffered a cut to the head during the ordeal.

Sea Rescue Port Macquarie towed the vessel back to their headquarters.
