- Eurobodalla rescue exercise big success
- July 26, 2012

Marine rescue organisations on the New South Wales far south coast have successfully completed a major training exercise.
Volunteer marine rescue units as well as water police, a rescue helicopter, surf lifesavers and the ambulance service took part in the operation at Batemans Bay at the weekend.
After a theory day on Saturday, the teams took to the water yesterday to simulate an emergency situation.
Batemans Bay's Marine Rescue Unit Commander, Michael Syrek, says the scenario was challenging but went like clockwork.
“The helicopters went out and they strategically dropped the dummies into the ocean and we had to go out and find them,” he said.
“We had seven boats in all.
“We all went in formation in this search pattern and eventually those dummies were all located.”
