- OCEAN BEACH: EXCLUSIVE USE FOR SURF LIFE SAVING EVENT
- July 18, 2012

Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of a national surf life saving event at Ocean Beach Umina this Friday to Sunday.
RMS Maritime Acting Regional Manager Hawkesbury/Broken Bay Hendrik Clasie said boaters should keep clear of Ocean Beach between 8am and 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of the National IRB Championships hosted by Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club,” Mr Clasie said.
“The area boundaries will be marked by large black inflatable buoys.
“For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels.
Mr Clasie said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
