- Move frees wharf space
- October 17, 2012
MARINE Rescue Broken Bay will celebrate the completion of its new jetty at Bayview and the naming of its new lifeboat, the David B Harrison, this Saturday.
The jetty allows the Broken Bay unit to tie up its two rescue vessels rather than occupying space at the nearby public wharf.
The $44,000 jetty was funded with the help of a state government grant of $35,000.
The secure jetty incorporates a floating pontoon anchored by two piles hammered into the seabed and covered with a plastic tube to limit corrosion.
