ULLADULLA will soon have a brand new $700,000 lifeboat.

Years of fund-raising by volunteers, and the unfailing support of locals, have resulted in the town getting its first new purpose-built rescue vessel.

Announcing the acquisition Marine Rescue Commander Ken Lambert said most of the credit should go to the local community and volunteers who have worked tirelessly at fund-raising to maintain the 24/7 search and rescue facility at Ulladulla.

“It wouldn’t have happened without a dedicated group of members and the unstinting support and generosity of people in the Ulladulla district,” he said.
